洒店以美籍奥地利探险家约瑟夫·洛克命名，1922年洛克以美国《国家地理杂志》撰稿人的身份，进入云南，从此在玉龙雪山脚下的玉湖村旅居27年。

石洛克围绕洛克“探险家”，“植物学“摄影师”的身份，设计安排了家徒步、黑白照片摄影，植物猎人等体验活动。希望入住客人通过参与活动，体验之前未体验过的“探险家”人生，也度过一个不同于传统的假期。
